F.A.I.T.H A Dorm. A Delinquent. A Girl.

Imagine growing up with a bodyguard and never seeing your parents. So what you do to get their attention is leave at random times of the day to get drunk and get high and get arrested so that they will be forced to know that you exist.  At one point you lose your motive and suddenly you want them to regret all the time they didn't give to you. What you desire most is for them to look at you in the eye and see the pain and the anger and all the things that you've been through that they don't know  about an think to themselves ,"What did i create ?". Suddenly you're shipped away to a disciplinary school  where you have go hide your identity and you're enrolled in a program called F.A.I.T.H where the Nation's newest criminals reside. You meet a person who can actually stand looking at your eyes without flinching from all the emotion that flows through them and the only reason because their eyes flow the same way. For you life is like a chess game that you play against life and you're always meditating on your next move making sure that you won't get hurt again. But life has been around for centuries and knows the game far better. How will it end ? Read the book...
In the beginning of the book all we know is that there is a girl named Faith who will be attending a new school , we know that she has done some pretty bad things but there is one big thing that keeps bothering her conscious and murder seems to be a touchy subject for her. Throughout the book a specific scene is repeated over and over where she is at a birthday party and and she gets into a car with her pregnant mother and they drive and they're arguing in the car and then it just stops. In the end we find out that she got into a car accident and her pregnant mother died.

A & D

Two best friends have faced the labels of high school every day, since the first day of high school. The athletic one and nerd one are never supposed to come in contact seeing as how they are either ends of the popularity scale. But in this case they are joined at the hip, for their entire lives no one has payed much attention at their friendship but in the last year of high school , new problems arise and new students transfer in taking their attention away from each other. What they call 'friendly over-protectiveness" ,we call jealousy. What they call a " long-lasting friendship" , we call being in love. But the question is will they notice in time or will it be to late? Will they have fallen in love with another ? Read it for yourself!
In the beginning of the book , Dakota tries her hardest to disregard her feelings for Aaron, her best friend. When a handsome new guys transfers in, it gets even easier and Aaron's over-bearing girlfriend makes its piece of cake, but Aaron is not so willing to back off but we all have breaking points and when Aaron is on the verge of his,his Mother offers some advice, she says ,"Don't be an idiot, because if you don't take a risk now, while you can ,while you still have the opportunity. One morning you'll wake up and wonder ' why didn't i tell her' and you'll be filled with what if's ? Now is the time to take what is rightfully yours."

Bad girls don't die

Alexis Warren is a typical teenager with a negative attitude about everything , pink hair. But like every teenager she is misunderstood and has the usual dysfunctional family. However she still cares so when she notice doors opening and closing on their own and her sisters eyes are changing colors and she randomly attacks people. She starts to wonder what Kasey (her little sister) really does with her dolls. It comes to the point of Kasey being accused for murder , when this happens Alexis deciders to step in because lives are at cost and her most importantly her sisters sanity.
When Alex starts snooping around her younger sisters life to find out about her sudden , angry behavior she comes up with a number of suspicions ranging from the people she hangs out with to the  things she does at night. The A-ha moment comes when she figures out that an old demon who resides in the house is possessing her sister and commanding her to these crimes in order to carry out her own revenge.

The Fault In Our Stars

Hazel Grace Lancaster, a sixteen year old diagnosed with thyroid cancer , was forced to go to a support meeting along with other teenagers who are going through different types of terminal cancer. During that support meeting she meets an extraordinary soul that goes by the name of The first time that they meet they agree to read one of each others favorite books. Hazel's favorite book is An Imperial Affliction written by Peter Van Houten, while Augustus Waters offers The Price Of Dawn that is based on a video game . The two seem to be frustrated at the fact that author Peter Van Houten did not finish his conclusion of said book. After a number of dates and emotional bonding between Hazel and Augustus they embark on a journey to Amsterdam to meet Van Houten to get the final conclusion of the book seeing as how he never finished it. Unexpectedly,Van Houten is extremely rude to Hazel and Augustus, he even dared to mock their lifestyles because of the fact that they have cancer. Implying that they seek attention and extra perks. Disappointed at the fact they did not get the ending they were expecting they headed back home. The final ending will not be told in this summary if you want to know , you must read the book yourself.
After reading the book more than three times , i can see the book from a different perspective. In a literal sense Hazel Grace is a hypocritical character because she spends so much time telling everyone to live their life and stop taking care of her , so that they won't be hurt when she dies. She spends her emotional energy telling everyone including Augustus to leave and find someone else to love because according to her she will only be in this world temporarily. In an emotional sense , she is a very caring and a mature character because she speaks about the end of the human race as if she was discussing the weather. The way that she pushes everyone away is because she doesn't want them to get hurt when she dies or in different view she doesn't want them to notice that at she died. Her character does not want her death to affect many people , because she can see it in the way that her mother quit her job to take care of her.

Lies we tell ourselves By:Robin Talley

Imagine walking to school on a bright, sunny day  and all of a sudden you hear a certain chant and as you get closer and closer to the school it gets a louder and it's like someone threw a bucket full of ice cold water at you. They're chanting, "N*****! N*****!N*****!". In the distance you can the police standing at the side but you know that no matter what happens they won't defend you. If it wasn't for the shiny badge sitting smugly on their chest they would be right there joining the chant with the other white kids. Imagine being in class , saying the pledge, but having someone digging a pencil into your lower back the whole time and whispering threats as you say that you are all one nation under god yet the nation seems to live for the segregation of whites and blacks. Imagine having to survive violence everyday just to get an education. But Sarah, Ennis , and Chuck  can't imagine. Why? because they know exactly what it's like. They go endure this pain everyday.

On page 15 it states," -but Ennis is faster. He dodges through a gap between the boys-he doesn't shove them; we're not allowed to touch any of them, no matter what they do to us." This text states shows that Ennis is intelligent  and he knows his limits , he knows that his job as the eldest is to defend them but he knows his "place" as well. On the same page it also states," Ennis is back in front, pushing through the crowd with Chuck." He knows that since he is tall and broad that he can push through the crowd and the people behind him won't have to get hit as much.

Tolerance

Tolerance: the ability or willingness to allow the existence, occurrence, or practice of something in particular the existence of  opinions or behavior that one does not necessarily agree with.

From my perspective , tolerance means to put up with something, to be in control, because you are the only person who controls your own emotions. Tolerance means to recognize. Recognize, because not everyone has the same beliefs that we do. We have to recognize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. A fact that everyone should have engraved in their mind is that no matter how many times they tell someone to repeat contrary to their beliefs, in their heart they will always have their own opinion and beliefs.

I AM NUMBER FOUR By: Pittacus Lore

I am currently reading "I AM NUMBER FOUR" by Pittacus Lore. This major motion picture is about a group of 9 kids that come from the extraterrestrial world named Lorien that was wiped out by the Mogadorians. The 9 children came to earth to seek safety and they each came to Earth with what they call a "Cêpan" , the  Cêpan's are basically teachers who are supposed to make sure that the Garde's (the nine kids) know what to do when their legacies appear. Legacies are the powers that they are able to obtain because they are made to defend their race. There are only two types of races in Lorien, there are the Cêpan's and the Garde's. The Mogadorians have moved to Earth to be able to hunt down the nine kids, before the nine kids left Lorien however, an elder put a charm on these nine kids , you can only kill them in order otherwise you will die the same way that you are trying to kill them. Their original names are Numbers one , two , three , three , four , five , six , seven ,eight , nine. Each time one of them dies they get a scar on their right ankle telling them that one more has died. The story begins with Number four whose Cêpan is named Henri , currently they are traveling through America and they are residing in Ohio. But what they didn't count on is the humans knowing that the Mogadorians even exist as more and more secrets unravel and more scars appear every body is on edge wondering when the Mogodarians are going to attack.

Words of the wiser is shown throughout the book Henri is always warning Number four about the things he needs to do in case of an emergency and always giving him advice on how to survive in case he was alone. Above any other advice though he always says ,"Be prepared, always on guard." Lorien was attacked when Lorien dropped their guard so to Henri it is very important for Number four to abide by his rules.

The Quirky Tale of April Hale By: demonicblackcat

April Hale suffers from Aspergers Syndrome so she has an inability to detect any sort of emotion and it is difficult for her to communicate with other people. So when  Ryder Black  starts to talk to her , she starts to imitate Yoda. What this means is that Ryder makes it difficult for her to speak. She is unaware of the growing feelings he has for her and he is unaware of the fact that she suffers from Aspergers. As they both get to know each other more and more their feelings increase for each other but April begins to push him away because she says that he causes,"Flesh-eating monsters" in her stomach. In reality she is just afraid that he makes her feel this way. However, Ryder has never had to deal with a girl saying no. Even though he flirts with her, even though he practically lives in her room , he still thinks that April doesn't like him. When Ryder becomes aware of the syndrome that April has  he suddenly understands and when April explains that he makes her feel as if there "is a hippo sitting on her throat " every time they talk or how the flesh-eating monsters begin their job every time his hand makes contact with her hand.
Due to the events that have occurred in the book i can infer that April is a very caring person because in the beginning of the book she has an admirer but again she is completely unaware of Andrew's feelings towards her so when Andrew manages to ask her if she likes him and she responds with , "Of course i like you you're my buddy as long you are  my brother's buddy even though we don't sit together in lunch."She is completely unaware that she just friend-zoned him so when everybody starts to say things like ,"You killed him!" "The poor guy" "He must be dying" or "Harsh, man".
She falls into hysterics she cries because she doesn't know what she did wrong and to make it up she asks him to sit with her in lunch and he denies her because Quinn , April's brother explained April's condition to him.

The Outsiders By : S.E Hinton

This is a story about seven boys who have been through it all and they are just getting by. These boys live in a world of discrimination, loss , poverty ,  and violence. These boys are the definition of tough and brave. As S.E Hinton mentions ,"Greasers can't walk alone too much or they'll get jumped, or someone will come by and scream "Greaser!" at them, which doesn't make you feel too hot, if you know what I mean. We get jumped by the Socs. I'm not sure how you spell it, but it's the abbreviation for the Socials, the jet set, the West-side rich kids. It's like the term "greaser," which is used to class all us boys on the East Side.
We're poorer than the Socs and the middle class. I reckon we're wilder, too. Not like the Socs, who jump greasers and wreck houses and throw beer blasts for kicks, and get editorials in the paper for being a public disgrace one day and an asset to society the next."  Here you can see the discrimination , the poverty , and the violence all wrapped in one. They go endure this everyday while also managing an education. Pony-boy , Johnny manage to get themselves into trouble , big trouble , so they run to the smartest one of the group in those situations , Dally . He has the police record that goes on for miles. He immediately tells them to run away and they listen. READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT MORE!!!!
You will experience words of the wiser throughout the book.It will come unexpected from some people but it will be there some will come from those who are prepared to die and some will come from those who are prepared to live on their own.

Crossed by: Ally Condie

Summary - Intro the book
I have finished the book titled "Crossed" written by Allie Condie, which is,  the sequel to "Matched" by:Allie Condie. If you haven't read the first book,Matched i'll give you a brief summary about the book. Cassia and everyone else who just turned 17 are attending the party that will meet the person whom they will spend the rest of their lives with. Cassia is surprised when she ends up with her best friend Xander , towards the climax of the story a twist comes in where instead of falling in love with her chosen person she finds herself seeking out an aberration. In the second book, she is on her way to find Ky (if you want to know what happened to Ky read Matched), she is determined to find Ky after he was taken away. Will she find him or will she lose him  forever?
In the book "Crossed"written by Allie Condie Cassia can be seen as a rebel, because the society that she lives in decides everything in her life , who she marries , when she has kids , her job, etc. We begin to really explore  her rebel side when she is with Ky when in reality she is destined to be with Xander. The text states,"So in the middle of all the noise, i point to the sky. I hope he understands what i mean, because i mean so many things;my heart will always fly his name. I wont go gentle ill find a way to soar like the angels in the stories and i will find him.And i know he understands as he looks straight at me, deep into my eyes. His lips move silently and i know what he says:the words of a poem that only two people in the world know."The best thing about  reading a book is reading in between the lies, reading this piece of text evidence , can we please analyze the part where Condie says ,"And i know he understands as he looks straight at me, deep into my eyes. His lips move silently and i know what he says:the words of a poem that only two people in the world know."We can easily tell that they share an amazing love and why should they hold so dear to their hearts a stanza of a poem. Also let's take a moment to analyze the part where she writes ," His lips move silently". He never repeats the words, that means that he didn't want somebody to hear them.To wrap it up, this piece of evidence shows that there is a connection between Ky and herself, when really that connections is supposed to be with Xander
